George Tsakopoulos

This class is intended for students in the first grades of Elementary School who have advanced conversational skills in Greek, but are working toward mastering the academic skills of reading and writing. Students in this class begin by learning to break down sentences into words and words into syllables. Furthermore, they move beyond the study of phonetics and vocabulary into the study of basic grammar, syntax and semantics.

Rania Angelis | Γειά σας! My name is Rania Angelis and I am very excited to be joining the teaching team at the Annunciation Greek School. I was born in Rhodes and lived there until age 11, when my family moved to Sacramento. After graduating from high school in Sacramento, I went on to study at Franklin University, in Lugano, Switzerland, where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Modern Languages (Italian & French). Upon completion of my degree, I moved back to Rhodes where I worked in the tourist industry. I also attained teaching credentials to teach English as a Second Language, Italian, and French in private schools and home school programs.

In 2012, I moved back to Sacramento with my husband Michalis and our six-year-old son, Nikolas. I am currently working for San Juan Unified School District as an Instructional Assistant in an Autism Special Day Class and am pursuing a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant Degree at American River College.

In my spare time, I enjoy playing tennis, traveling and spending time with my family and friends. In the classroom, I try to encourage self-confidence through activities that promote speech and language development as well as focus on proper grammar usage.
